* *The Rifleman's Rifle, Winchester pre-64 Model 70, New 3rd Printing PB
The Rifleman’s Rifle by Roger Rule. This book has been considered the tome for collectors of Winchester Pre-64 Model 70s for 26 years.
The original ad for the 1st printing read:
The definitive work on the ‘Pre-64’ Model 70 authorized by Winchester (both Olin Corporation and U.S. Repeating Arms Co.) ( 11”x8.5”) with over 350 pages and over 500 photographs (many in full color) is an in-depth study of the Model 70, 1936-1963, and presents fresh information on the Model 54 and the new Model 70. Factory blueprints, records of ‘Net Orders Received,’ shipping ledgers, and the ‘Basic Nomenclature List’ were analyzed, catalogs for every year were studied. In short, this is the MOST COMPLETE REFERENCE BOOK PUBLISHED ON THE MODEL 70.”
Both the original hard-cover first editions and second printings were printed in such limited numbers that they have become collectors’ items in their own right. Today, many Model 70 collectors want a copy of this book just for the reference material but do not wish to pay the exorbitant prices charged for either of these two volumes; and we have had many collectors who already own one or more of these books who just no longer wish to risk damaging the pages to look up their favorite passage, table or photograph.
In answer to these needs, this 3rd printing of the book as it was initially intended, a great reference book, to be used as such, and to keep costs down these are being offered in soft cover…with a price of $ 99.95 for this introductory offer.
